was getting ready to leave work this past week. I was watching a student talk and the thought came me, “She will never remember what she saying.” Like in 10 years, she will never remember whatever she’s saying to her friend. Maybe she will, I don't know. But it brought up a question I want to talk about …

What is  the most important thing you have ever said?

What conversations do you remember?

What compliments still make you still feel proud of yourself?

Words are big time.

Researchers say that

Working males average 2000-3000, females from 10,000-20000. However, both average about 500-700 words of actual value (i.e. words which have intent to communicate to another person an item of importance to both).

What am i saying all day?

Who am i talking to ?

Even thinking of my day, I’m wondering what meaningful thing have I shared? Who have I affirmed with my words.

I wonder why are words so important.

““A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad. You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.””

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:33-37‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What’s in the treasury of your heart?

The word i say reflects my heart toward you. But I find myself at times not expressing my feelings toward someone not realizing what I say from the depth of my heart can change the trajectory of my life.

Sometimes about nothing, sometimes about everything. Always about lessons and love.

Words are seed. Words can water. Words can inspire. Words are the beginning and the end. From in the beginning the word was god to the 7 last sayings

of Jesus. The word of God is important. With his word God created all things.

I thrive off of words alone most days. They mean the world to me.

Even Jesus referred to the words off of the prophet during his time on earth. They gave him solace, protection and guidance.

What are you saying? And do you mean it?

Is our kind? Loving?

Are we taking account for the things we say?

Are we destroying with our tongue? Condemning or perpetuating fear.

This tongue of ours is powerful.

“If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.”

‭‭James‬ ‭3:3-8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I hope the most important thing you have said is I love you to someone who means the most. I hope that love is the subject of your native tongue. My prayer is that hope is your first reflex.

What do you remember about what people say to you? How can we change a persons quality of life with my words? How can I speak blessings over myself and refuse to utter a curse.

What is the most important thing you have ever said? I hope you start by saying it today? Your voice matters.
